National Debt

The National Debt

Our national debt is $11 trillion dollars -- the highest since World War II. Democrats and Republicans alike have failed to restrain government spending and plan for the future. Justin opposes spending plans that take money from future generations.

The U.S. government is living beyond the taxpayers’ ability to pay. The federal government’s debt is expected to reach $21 trillion within a decade if Washington's spending habits don't change.

At half a trillion dollars per year, the interest payment on the debt is squeezing out other spending priorities, such as education and health care. “Stagflation” – a stagnant job market coupled with high inflation – will follow if Congress does not put our finances on a sustainable path.

Future generations should not be forced to pay for reckless spending plans today. As your representative, Justin will fight for a balanced budget and a responsible spending plan for the future.

Without changes to the spending plan in Washington, the national debt will triple within a decade.
