Small business is the backbone of America’s economy. In fact, small businesses are responsible for creating about two-thirds of all new jobs.

Connecticut itself has about 75,000 small businesses that bring innovative products to the marketplace and provide economic opportunities to diverse groups of people. Most businesses in Connecticut have four or less employees.

Communities fail when their small businesses go under. We must make it easier to start – and sustain – small businesses in America. This means supporting tax cuts for capital investments, cutting red tape, and making small business loans available at reasonable rates.
